About us
The Lansing Area Vintage Computer Club (LAVCC) is an independent organization based in the Lansing, Michigan metro.
The group was created in August of 2025 in order to meet the growing public interest of retrocomputing and to promote a deeper interest and understanding of computing among all who wish to learn.
What we aim to accomplish as a group
- Create a group setting for anyone interested in the world of computing
- Provide the next generation of local computing enthusiasts with resources
- Provide an organization for enthusiasts of retro/vintage computer and console hardware and software
- Educate people about the history and modern state of computing
- Prevent gatekeeping within the retrocomputing community and welcome all computing-related interests
- Host social events related to retro/vintage computers and consoles
- Reduce e-waste and demonstrate the usefulness of outdated/unused computers
We are currently looking for spaces to host events and meetings, whether inside of Lansing or your town outside of the city itself.
